About Me
I am a limnologist and ecologist who is broadly interested in plankton ecology, water quality, and food web interactions. I research how multiple environmental factors can independently, and also in combination, affect ecological communities in lakes and reservoirs, which has implications for ecosystem services and management. I use a combination of field sampling, analyzing large-scale datasets, interdisciplinary and international team science, and ecological modelling to address research questions.
In summer 2019 I joined Lake Superior State University as an assistant professor of fisheries and aquatic ecology in the School of Natural Resources & Environment and the Center for Freshwater Research and Education. Before, I was a postdoctoral associate in the Stockwell laboratory at the University of Vermont, where I continue work on a number of projects assessing how global change is impacting lake ecosystem processes and plankton ecology globally. I am very passionate about teaching, mentoring, research, and connecting my work to management, policy, and the community. |
